The following gallery of project photos represents only a few examples of the numerous projects we have been proud to be a part of over the years. We invite your comments and any questions as to how the systems presented below may suit your needs. We hope you enjoy this glimpse of Hawai'i Nei. Aloha and Mahalo Nui.

A Beautiful example and very successful installation of Abbotsford Hydrapressed Slab in a plaza deck configuration. Architect Durant-Media Five, Ltd. The slabs are installed over a sloped concrete deck, with pedestals to level the walking surfaces (click here to observe slab detail and pedestals). The pool coping was also produced by Abbotsford to compliment the entire production. The waterproofing layer beneath the pedestals is of EPDM by Firestone Building Products. Overall project scope approximately 40,000 s.f.

Image of Ali'i Place- IRMA concrete block over BUR

Ali'i Place- Another excellent example of the beauty and practicality of an IRMA (inverted roof membrane system). Shown above is a non-pedestrian plaza deck comprised of concrete block over a modified bitumen roof and a protection course of rigid insulation between block and membrane. Observe the pattern made by the specifier in colors to match the aesthetics of this award winning project.

Picture yourself seated behind one of the office windows to the right, viewing this beautiful setting, it's a dramatic effect compared to typical roof decks seen by occupants of similar building designs is not only pleasant but represents an almost trouble-free roof assembly.

Project scope was approximately 3000 s.f.

Mauna Lani Terrace Condominiums- This aerial view was taken following the completion of over 68,000 s.f. of roof and parapet area at this luxury condominium project on the shores of Hawai'i's (Big Island) Kohala Coast. Contractor- Certified Construction

The light gray membrane seen on these roof tops solved a design challenge that three prior systems could not meet. A peculiar roof design (detail) caused a literal 'bathtub' condition on each of these units. Advanced Roofing Technology was called on to recommend materials and installation techniques to maintain the property under perpetually ponded conditions and remain warranted by the manufacturer. The solution: Kemco roofing membrane- this beautiful light gray membrane also serves as a semi-reflective surface without the normal glare associated with pure white membranes.

Private Residence- An exquisite example of the intricacy that can be achieved with interlocking pavers by Abbotsford.

This lanai (patio) enclosure is beautiful and durable, pavers can withstand overweight vehicles and a host of other abuse in city streets, colonnades and sidewalks. The practicality of having access to subterranean public works or other grade requirements makes pavers the perfect choice for both commercial and residential application.

K-Mart at Stadium Mall Firestone EPDM

K-Mart or 'Big K'- Advanced Roofing Technology has enjoyed the privilege of supplying numerous roofs for the K-Mart organization. The upper and largest roof area shown is somewhat obscured in this photo however you can observe portions of the massive 180,000 s.f. Firestone EPDM roof around the A/C units (link to another EPDM view). The metal roof in this particular view is by others, however if your project requires a similar fascia or mansard application ARTI has a variety of metal, tile or other systems to coordinate similarly, see Computer City below. Contractors- Buck Roofing; Honolulu Roofing

Formerly Computer City, Now Pier One Imports

Computer City- Architect Steven Marlette, founder and principal of MC Architects, selected our mechanically seamed metal roofing assembly for it's ability to provide performance under extreme geometric demand. Observe the conical shape. This is one of many fine projects specified by Mr. Marlette for the Victoria Ward Group. Color hue and fastness were key to blending this new building into a variety of other existing structures throughout the Ward Complex. Although Pier One Imports now proudly displays their sign on this building- the roof remains nearly as lovely as the day it was installed.

Scope- Approximately 32,000 s.f. Contractor- Quality Sheet Metal

Home Depot (Maui)- TPO systems are providing a long sought after solution to designer need of affordable, integral white or light colored single-ply membranes. This Firestone UltraPly TPO system fits the bill perfectly. With durable materials, reflectivity and speedy installation.

Shown here, are Beachside Roofing, LLC crew members and Jeff Rapoza formerly of Advanced Roofing Technology atop the Home Depot project in-progress. Beachside Roofing was Hawai'i's first Firestone MASTER CONTRACTOR.

Scope- Approximately 130,000 s.f.

Mauna Kea Towers Condominiums- ALDOCOAT roof coating systems are used to recover almost any existing roofing system to provide 5, 10 and 15 year warranted solutions to AOAO's, Government buildings and residential applications throughout our state. This particular roof presented an excellent challenge for any recover, with it's numerous penetrations, curbs, in and outside corners, equipment stands. Click on the pipe stands in the foreground of this photo to view other photos of Aldo termination details.

Aldo Products Company materials have enjoyed a long 20+ year history of installations. The hands-on formulations of both butyl and acrylic membranes are that of the Owner/Founder, Chemist Wilhelm Kramer. Mr. Kramer has perfected a number of membrane alternatives for an appropriate match to fill your needs. Butyl for metal roofs, flashing and ponded conditions. Acrylic for a wide variety of single-ply, modified bitumen and BUR coating jobs.
